Fall 2018 Open Enrollment Class Dates

We’ve hinted at it, but here it is:

The RTO Course is coming to Ravalli County Fairgrounds in Hamilton, Montana. There’s three back to back dates to take advantage of:

  • 8-9 September
  • 15-16 September
  • Advanced Class: 13-14 September

Class cost is $300 in advance, $350 at the door. The advance cost requires a $50 deposit sent before 15 August:

TOWR

610 N. 1st St., Ste. 5-209

Hamilton, MT 59840
Make sure you include a good email address and the class date in the deposit (and a heads up to my inbox: [email protected]) so we can send you a confirmation.

The last NC dates for 2018:

  • 14-15 July
  • 11-12 August
  • First Line Course: 29-30 September
  • 13-14 October
  • Advanced Class: 27-28 October

A description of the the RTO and First Line Courses can be found here. The Advanced Course picks up where the RTO Basic Course leaves off, with training focused on:

  • Advanced SOI/CEOI Planning
  • Planning & Coordinating Transmitting Sites/Directional Transmitting
  • Uses of Resistors and Constructing Directional Wire Antennas
  • Data Bursts
  • Advanced HF techniques
  • Basic Signals Mapping and Communications Intelligence

Barring any more private training dates, this is it for 2018. There *may* be a couple one day workshops added at a reduced cost, focusing on observation skills and intermediate range (0-500) marksmanship, mission planning, defensive considerations and coordinating teams in the field, and basic signals collection/intelligence. Feel free to contact me for more details.

Again, this is it for 2018. Things appear to be ramping up as far as rhetoric and action goes from an increasingly unhinged Left. What are you doing today to be better tomorrow?

  2. Do you have any further Scout courses on the schedule? I don’t see any, but my buddy and I were hoping for one this fall.

    1. Those aren’t open enrollment. I do them for private groups. That said, y’all might want to email me about the one-day clinics I’m standing up in the Fall.

  3. Matt, I would like to sign-up for the Oct. 27/28 Advance RTO Class in NC. I would also be interested in your Scout class if an opening comes up. I will send you a deposit. 🙂 73, & God Bless Brother JohnyMac

Classes look good, ncscout. Locations definitely out in God’s country… funny how you can find God’s country in so many different places. Perhaps when classes are complete you can find some time to visit more of God’s country, just west across the border into Idaho… maybe around the Clearwater, Lochsa and/or Salmon Rivers. I can’t say enough good about those areas… alas far from my home as well! Enjoy your trip west!

I am in Missoula-I’m down for it. Likely anything extra that you’re looking to do.

Would like to sign up for the RTO course on October 13/14. Where do I send the check? Coming from the western part of Virginia.

  9. Are the MT courses $300 if paid in advance, OR $350 if paid at door? Too bad the Advanced course isn’t the next two days or I would sign it, my parents are flying in to visit on the 11th. I may be interested unless you are going to have class sometime soon in Idaho.

    1. No classes in Idaho currently. The cost is $300 with a $50 deposit in advance. Without a deposit it’s $350 at the door.

But that said there needs to be a substantial number of deposits to even make this happen. There’s a large overhead cost, and this is not a charity.

Hello – I’m sending you a deposit for the 8-9 September RTO class in Montana. I am missing the obvious and don’t have your email address, so hopefully this works.

I second the request for classes in Idaho/Washington corner of the country.

This is how classes work. If you want the course in your part of the world, you organize a venue, you get the numbers, you handle the enrollments. That’s what’s happening in Montana.

So if you’re serious about private classes, contact me, BE REALISTIC ABOUT WHAT NUMBERS YOU CAN SUPPORT, and we’ll work out the details.
